2. Attend the Discover Boating Opening Night Party

We’re starting off the show strong with an exciting opening night party from 4:30 to 7:30pm, Wednesday, January 25!

To attend, purchase tickets before 12pm on Wednesday, January 25. VIP tickets are $50 and include show admission, two cocktails, oyster bar, live entertainment, and access to chef and mixologist demos and samplings. All proceeds benefit the Billion Oyster Project’s goal to restore 50 million oysters to New York Harbor in 2023.

3. Relax at the Discover Boating Beach Club

Does anyone else miss summer (the best time to be out on the water)? Yeah, us too. That’s why we’ll be kicking it at the new Discover Boating Beach Club. Not only will there be live DJ sets and demos, but there will be tastings from local notable chefs and mixologists. There will also be a new paddle sports pool (read on below for more info!), beach games, and a virtual boating photo booth available for you to enjoy. 

4. Salute Our Heroes 

To express our gratitude for your service, all active and veteran military, first responders, and USCG/USCGA members will receive FREE admission on Thursday (1/26). All you have to do is show your military ID (or equivalent) and a photo ID. 

5. Visit Fred’s Shed How-To Center, presented by Progressive® Insurance

New to boating? Are you having engine troubles? Or a maintenance issue you can’t seem to fix? Stop by Fred’s Shed How-To Center in Space 659. Our tech experts will be happy to answer all your boating questions. And they’ll have tips, tricks, and DIY advice ready for first-time skippers and experienced captains alike. 

6. Test Your Paddle Sports Skills on the Water Indoors! 

Stand-Up-Paddleboard

Ever wanted to try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding (SUP)? Well, now’s your chance! Head to the Discover Boating Beach Club to begin your stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking adventure at the new Paddle Sports Pool. Our professionals will supply everything you need to take a test ride, and there’s no experience required. This experience is open to guests aged ten years or older. 

7. Try America’s Boating Club Boating Simulator

Are you confident in your boating skills? Regardless, you can get “hands-on” practice with America’s Boating Club Boating Simulator. Grab your crew and practice docking, stopping, making pivot turns, and more using a real Mercury throttle steering wheel. 

8. Build a (Toy) Boat in Space 665

Who doesn’t love a souvenir? Your little skippers will have boatloads of fun crafting one-of-a-kind toy boats to bring home. 

9.  Visit Conservation Village

Swing by Conservation Village in Space 665 to discover how recreational boating helps sustain our planet and waters for future generations. 

The featured display is the New York Says No to Plastic Contest, which showcases projects created by local elementary, middle, and high-school students. Each project exemplifies how reducing plastic helps our water resources and positively impacts the environment. And the winning school will be awarded a $500 grant to fund its continued environmental efforts (shoutout to Bajio).

How to Get to the Show 

Are you planning on driving to the Discover Boating New York Boat Show? The average price for a parking lot close to Javits Center is $40 to $60 plus tax. Typically, prices are based on a passenger car that parks for 8-10 hours in the lot on Saturday. However, many lots add a surcharge for SUVs and minivans. If those prices are steep for you, there are plenty of discounted parking options near Javits and Piers in the West 30s.
